On Thursday, July 4th, at Michael’s Back Door Restaurant (1715 Lakeshore Rd W., Mississauga), the Community Foundation of Mississauga will host its Star Reception and Launch Party, sponsored by LiUNA Local 183. This Meet & Greet function will introduce our Star Lineup for the 7th annual “Dancing with Mississauga Stars,” which will be held on Friday, November 1st, 2019 at the Mississauga Convention Centre. The event is fashioned after the popular TV show and is a red carpet affair complete with glitz, glamour, show-stopping dance numbers, and more sequins than can be counted!

The media is invited to attend this Star Reception and Launch Party to meet the six high-profile executives who have stepped up to this year’s challenge including: David Shaw, Owner & Managing Director of Nurse Next Door; Shelley White, CEO, Responsible Gambling Council; John Digby, Senior A/M Commercial, Retail & Business Services at RBC; Jaime Cortez, Executive Board Member, CECOF Coordinator at LiUNA Local 183; Dr. Ian Dawe, Chief, Mental Health, at Trillium Health Partners; and Joty Pannu, General Manager of Sauga Radio 960.

 

 

Community Foundation's 2017 Grant Cycle Closes

Mississauga, ON – July 10, 2017 – The Community Foundation of Mississauga is pleased to announce that more than $875,000 was granted to 73 charities across Mississauga through the Foundation’s 2017 Granting Round. 
“Our donors are deeply committed to our community,” said Anne Marie Peirce, President & CEO of the Community Foundation of Mississauga. “Through our grants, they support a broad array of organizations whose important work impacts our community every day in real and tangible ways”.

The Community Foundation of Mississauga is proud to work with donors from across the city in order to make these important grants to worthy organizations. The funding provided from our generous supporters has allowed the Foundation to grant over $8.4 million dollars to our community since 2001. The grants reach vital, hopeful, essential and creative programs consistent with the Foundation’s mandate. The programs receiving grants this year build community, sustain, teach, promote health, settle newcomers and inspire creativity. From providing shelter and sustenance, health and education, supporting arts and culture and preserving heritage and the environment, the Foundation’s grant monies are put into action by essential charities that contribute to making Mississauga a thriving community.
